About the Foundation

Gaddafi International Charity and Development Foundation (LOGO)

The Gaddafi International Charity and Development Foundation (GICDF) is an international non-governmental organization dedicated to developmental and humanitarian initiatives in social, economic, cultural, and human rights domains.

Established in 2003 through the signing of its articles of association in Geneva, Switzerland, GICDF is chaired by Saif Al Islam Al Gaddafi, with an Executive Director selected by an executive committee to manage the Foundation and its associated societies and offices.

The Foundation upholds guiding principles, including the maintenance and protection of human rights and fundamental liberties, the development of civil society and its organizations, the promotion of charitable voluntary work, and the establishment of cooperative relations among communities to strengthen teamwork in supporting the oppressed, downtrodden, and vulnerable segments of society, such as the poor, needy, orphans, and the handicapped. It also provides humanitarian aid to victims of war and disasters, no matter where they may be.

The Foundation operates specialized offices that coordinate regularly with various parties and agencies to bolster activities aimed at achieving its objectives. These offices include the Research and Development Office, Human Resources Office, Media Office, Fundraising Office, Technical Affairs and Projects Office, Foreign Relations Office, and the Civil Society Office. Several non-governmental organizations operate under the Foundation's banner and supervision, engaging in humanitarian and developmental activities to serve humanity and promote progress, prosperity, and the safeguarding of rights.

Text of Speech by the Chairman of the Foundation and the Press  Conference Marking the Release of 214 Members of Various Jihadist  Groups..

Today is indeed a very important day here in Libya, for it is a day of reconciliation and openness and reunification, and it is also a day for freedom. Today and in my capacity as Chairman of the Gaddafi Foundation, sponsor of this initiative -the initiative of dialogue with all Islamic groups in prison or abroad, in view to reopen the bridges of dialogue, debate and re-integration of all our brothers into the community so as they become factors of construction not for destruction- I would like to announce, today and after good efforts and thanks to God, the release of 214 prisoners from the various groups of course.
